Chili
Supper
The Chili Supper is an annual event held in later winter. The event is a key
fundraiser
for our parish.
Many volunteers are needed to help organize, set up the gym, and
prepare
food.
Hospitality--Parish
Receptions
This group coordinates the coffee and doughnuts social on the first Sunday
of each
month during the
school year. They also prepare all parish receptions and are present
to
greet people. This group promotes
the sense of community while providing occasions
for parishioners to get to
know each other and welcome
new parishioners.
Lively Hearts
This group meets the second Tuesday or each month, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The
group focuses on Christian fellowship in a variety of ways through: prayer,
birthday
club,
crafts, cards, bingo, occasional
trips, and much more. All are welcome, including
members for other parishes,
religious denominations,
or ethic groups.
Picnic
The annual St. Rita Picnic is held the second weekend in August. Although
the picnic
is a 2-day event, it
involves an entire week of preparation... grounds set up, chicken
dinner
preparation, working game booths,
beer garden, clean-up, etc.
Quilting Circle
This group meets every Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to make quilts for
the annual
parish picnic. They
quilt at three different frames, while at the same time other mark and
cut
pieces which are sewn together to
make a quilt top.
