Worship Committee
These members oversee all regular sub-committees. This group helps to set goals,
direction,
and standards that are liturgically corrected. They assist in training for
various liturgical roles.
Alter
Servers
Alter Servers assist the celebrant at Eucharistic services, funerals, and other
liturgical
events.
Banners
and Decorations

feast,
by using banners,
plants, flowers, symbolic arrangements, etc.
Eucharistic Ministers
Assists the priests and deacons in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to
their
community sisters
and brothers. Ministers select weekend mass times and are scheduled
throughout
the year.
Family
Bible Study
This group provides teaching and training of God's word through reading and
reflecting
on scripture,
with youth, parents, grandparents, and friends of St. Rita's Parish. This group
meets on Sunday from
9:45 to 10:45 am, to prepare us for the mass and our daily lives.
Greeters
These ministers gather at the church doors about fifteen minutes before mass and
welcome
people coming
to the service.
Lectors
Through this ministry, the proclamation of the "Good News" is continued in our
community.
By proclaiming
the Lord present in His Word, he/she gives meaning to
the readings so
parishioners will hear and understand
the message, which applies
to daily life.
May
Procession
This group honors Our Blessed Mother in May. All youth and guests are invited to
join in
procession. The
different duties of this group are greeters, distributor
of programs and free
rosaries. Blue Army will bring the
Statue of Our Mother.
Minister
to the Sick
These ministers of the Eucharist take the Blessed Sacrament to those unable to
attend Mass
with the community. This allows the sick in nursing homes and
homebound to become one
with the community of believers.
Musician
or Choir
Members of the St. Rita Music Ministry provide the leadership for musical prayer
in our
liturgies. They lead the
congregation in song, inviting the full
participation of all.
Nursing
Home Ministry
This group meets at the Regency Heath Care Center on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of
each
month. Their primary
duty will be to help get the residents to and from the
10:00 am Mass
celebrated at the center.
Prayer
Tree
Members of this group are contacted by phone and asked to pray for various
causes. Anyone
is welcome to participate
in this ministry. No prayer request is
ever denied.
Ushers
This group of men and women are responsible for greeting and seating
parishioners and
guests, taking up collections,
passing out bulletins and other
related materials, straightening
up after each Mass by returning song books and
missalettes
to holders and placing kneelers
in an upright position. |
